We went camping this past weekend up Little Cottonwood Canyon. We go there every summer at least once and have gone almost every year since 2006. We missed a year because of my back surgery (grr) and once the summer we bought our house. It's always a lot of fun and so relaxing!
You may be surprised to know that my favorite part isn't taking photos. Nope, my favorite part is the campfire. I love sitting around the campfire at night watching the stars come out. And of course, what is a campfire without toasted marshmallows??? :)
I got some fun shots this trip, my favorite being the doe that came through our campsite Friday morning. I was getting ready to fix dinner when I heard a twig snap. When I looked up, there she was, not far from me, chomping on the bushes. I figured by the time I got my camera she would be gone, but she wasn't overly bothered by me. I was able to get a few good shots off before someone from the campsite above us scared her off.

I got some other fun shots, including a beautiful black and white butterfly, some flowers, and the creek that runs through the campground.
As always, copies of all of my photos are available to purchase, just send me an email or give me a call to order. :)

This is what happens when a fire pops as you are taking a long exposure photo! I think it looks so cool!
